We are excited to be working with Opal Outdoor Play!
Opal is an award-winning, mentor-supported school improvement programme, which is supporting us to improve the quality of our play opportunities. Opal is the only programme that has been proven to sustainably improve the quality of play in British primary schools. We are proud to share with you all that we have begun to participate in and support the Opal Scheme during our play times.
Over the next 18 months we will be working with OPAL to improve our lunchtime play. We want to ensure all our children thoroughly enjoy play, take risks and develop their physical, social, co-operation, co-ordination, resilience and creativity skills here at Brunswick House Primary School.

Research shows play is one of the fundamental elements of childhood happiness.
As 20% of a child's time in school is playtime, we want to ensure their play times are as inspiring as possible. This is equivalent to 1.4 years of their time they are at primary school.
We are committed to ensuring that quality play opportunities are available to all our children as we believe that play is essential for the physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual development of each child.
Opal is all about using natural and man-made resources to allow children to be inspired and creative at playtime.
